Conservatoire National du Saumon Sauvage

Tours commented and guided by Pierre Ribeyre to tell you the story of wild salmon. Reservation all year round for groups and schoolchildren on 06 63 49 59 55. Visits in July/August on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 15 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.
Only a few years ago, thousands of salmon went up the course of the Allier every year to come and reproduce near its sources. In order to preserve this endangered species, many actions have been undertaken.
The Conservatory will help you discover the efforts made by man to save this exceptional migratory bird.
The history of Haute-Loire is linked to that of salmon. The mission of the conservatory is to repopulate the Allier and some rivers with this fish that has lived alongside humans since prehistoric times. Educational and fun, the National Conservatory of Wild Salmon welcomes you to discover this fish, a witness to the biodiversity of our rivers and contribute to its preservation. The most eco-friendly: contribution to biodiversity, ecological management of the conservatory, discovery of ecological measures and techniques for repopulating Atlantic salmon in the Loire basin...
