Village | Pradelles | Plus Beau Village de France
Above Lake Naussac, the old fortified city of Pradelles, with its medieval streets lined with houses built over the centuries, offers a spectacular view of the entire Haut-Allier valley.
Overlooking the Haut-Allier valley and Lake Naussac, at the crossroads of old mule tracks, including the Chemin de Régordane (GR 700), Pradelles contains many historical monuments, memories of its prestigious past. Several kings of France, including Saint-Louis (in 1254), stopped there and, in 1878, Robert-Louis Stevenson did not fail to stop there (GR 70).
The old city offers enthusiasts its old buildings and its exceptional panoramas, but also offers hikers kilometers of old mule paths.

Portrait
Due to its location at the southern end of the department on the mountainous plateau which separates Velay, Vivarais and Gévaudan, Pradelles, classified among the "Most beautiful villages in France" is one of the gateways to Haute-Loire.
Few people passing on the national road 88, crossing Pradelles, imagine that there is a magnificently preserved historic center.
