Dominique ROCHET's dreamlike wooden lights in Céaux-d'Allègre
Dominique ROCHET puts light in his life and in ours, thanks to woodworking. For more than 10 years, Dominique has been imagining, sculpting and manufacturing wooden lights in his workshop in Maméas-Bas to Ceaux-d'Allègre. Creations full of roundness and finesse, as warm as the light passing through them.
Because Dominique ROCHET works with wood but goes even further. He plays with transparency. The fruit of rigor and perseverance. Once the log has been trimmed, he hollows out his logs with a gouge, until they are only a few millimeters thick and the light can play with its veins.
That, I'm the only one to do '
In a luminaire, the light comes from within and reveals all the aspects of wood, its different colors ranging from ocher to brown, passing through red and orange. And Dominique ROCHET goes even further to play with light. Sometimes, he pierces them with small holes, drawing vegetal or geometric patterns with finesse. Other times, he cuts his lamps out of beech or ash to give them the shape of dreamlike accordions or serpentines. His trademark ! "That, I'm the only one to do," he says.
But Dominique ROCHET is in constant research, there is no doubt that new ideas will one day come to feed his universe of wood and light. In the meantime, it is possible to find his creations in his workshop in Maméas-Bas, commune of Céaux d'Allègre. It is open all year round from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m. Dominique is also used to participating in the Allègre Christmas Market every year.
Felted wool accessories from Lainerie du Gévaudan for a warm winter
At the Lainerie du Gévaudan in Saugues, past, present and future come together. First of all through a museum space, where the woolen history of Gévaudan is told. A real leap into the past, discovering the machines and the flourishing wool business of Saugues at the end of the XNUMXth century. A space that can be visited independently throughout the year, or on a guided tour by reservation with the Ateliers de la Bruyère.
But also, through a production space, with various wool felting, sewing, hosiery and cutting workshops. There, small hands are busy felting wool of course, but also making a multitude of felted wool objects and accessories. Hats, bags, slippers, warm and comfortable soles, bags, but also cushions, jewelry, flip-flops, and even dog toys and other small woolen characters.
The shop area offers a wide choice of handmade gifts! It is possible to discover their range of creations "to dress", "to decorate" or "to relax" on site at the Lainerie du Gévaudan, 7 route du Mont Mouchet, but also online!
So many local products, but also solidarity, since the Lainerie du Gévaudan serves as a support for a social and learning business approach allowing more than 30 people to access a gateway to employment.
Bruyère workshops is an economic and solidarity group whose mission is to return to work people who have moved away from it and the economic development of the territory.

Wild, natural and organic cosmetics by Claire CATTOIR in Blesle, for soft skin
Thanks to Claire CATTOIR, we will take care of ourselves! “I wanted a range of organic cosmetics based on natural materials, wild or cultivated plants in an ethical and sustainable spirit, respectful of nature. In 2018, she set up her laboratory at home, in the Margaridou bed and breakfast to allow her to create the range of cosmetics she dreams of. And in the fall of 2018, Les Petites Sauvages was born.
Today, Claire CATTOIR markets a wide range of products: perfumed balms and oils, face and body care for men and women, or even make-up remover creams, all of which are handcrafted in her small laboratory in Aubeyrat, Blesle, in Haute-Loire. “I make my own formulas and all my products are then dermatologically tested. “Something to take care of yourself and nature…
Because, with Les Petites Sauvages, the environment is king: waste reduction, selective sorting, French and local production, recyclable jars and bottles... “I am in a sustainable and fair approach”. In Puy-en-Velay, in the rue des Arts, a multitude of colors has dressed the window of 20 rue Raphaël... And for good reason, since the summer of 2022, two young illustrators from Ponotes have taken possession of the premises. Elsa RUSSIER alias Louïzia and Lucile FILHOL alias Lune, both have a joyful universe and the power to brighten up the Ponote city with their illustrations.
Inhabited by common inspirations: “nature, Haute-Loire and Le Puy-en-Velay” with which they both fell in love, they nevertheless evolve in worlds of their own. A rather naive and childish style for Elsa who, in addition to her geographical maps (of the vineyards of France, Haute-Loire, or the world!), her primers, travel diaries and greeting cards, has just created a brand new gourmet calendar for 2023. And a rather graphic and refined universe with Fauvist influences for Lucile, who takes pleasure in representing the towns, villages and emblematic sites of Le Puy and its surroundings.
But despite these differences, at 20 rue Raphaël, their two worlds go together perfectly! You just have to pass the door of their shop to realize it. So much so that untrained eyes could confuse them, so much joy, colors and poetry are common to them. A chance that their ephemeral summer shop reopens for the holidays in Puy-en-Velay!
The ceramics of Cécile MARTIN from the Atelier Entre Terres in Grazac, to put the small dishes in the big ones
The ceramic creations of the Entre Terres workshop are the fruit of the marriage of the elements. Cécile MARTIN indeed has the power to master earth, water, air and fire. In his hands, they come together and express themselves to give birth to superb contemporary pieces in stoneware or porcelain. Dressed in colors and clean lines, his creations are the perfect blend of prestige and simplicity.
Crockery, lighting, furniture, sculpture, decoration… The Entre Terres workshop offers a wide range of unique pieces, signed and handcrafted with passion by Cécile Martin. What inspires him? Nature, mountains, landscapes… One thing is certain, the ceramist is in perpetual research. "I have a taste for research and innovation", with each year the challenge of a new collection or to respond to tailor-made orders.
Cécile MARTIN has indeed made a name for herself in the world of ceramics. So much so that for several years, great French and foreign restaurateurs have called on her to find the ceramic cases that will be able to sublimate their gastronomic dishes. As is the case locally in Le Haut-Allier restaurant in Pont-d'Alleyras.
But it also happens to Cécile MARTIN to work with decorators, craftsmen and landscape architects, hence the importance of constantly renewing herself.
The delicious Âneries and other wooden finds of Sophie ANDRIEUX in Saint-Front, for donkey lovers
Chik'ânes bâat , it's a gite, rental of donkeys by the day or half-day in Souteyros, thanks to Sylvie BERTHET, but it's also a marvelous shop. A small Ali Baba's cave, which throughout the year gives pride of place to wood and craftsmanship. Welcome to the boutique of Âneries and other finds by Sophie ANDRIEUX.
Here, a whole heap of small, medium and large objects are exhibited, straight out of his workshop: wooden Christmas trees, small and large, earrings, necklaces, medallions, key rings, magnets, but also trivets, cheese trays and other salad servers... The choice is endless!
Sophie ANDRIEUX is a singer. And nothing to do with dancing and singing, because you will have understood it, it is the wood that she works, like a real wood lacemaker, with patience and meticulousness. His source of inspiration? It's the donkeys of course! They are 11 donkeys to share the meadow of Chik'ânes and therefore, the works of Sophie.
With her, everyone has their moment of glory. On a pair of earrings, a necklace or a trivet, they all find their place, thus revealing their best profile, carefully contoured by Sophie's hands.
And if wood isn't your cup of tea, good news! The Âneries shop and other finds are full of many other treasures "made in Haute-Loire". “I exhibit my friends' creations! “: photo books, drawings, pottery, stained glass, honey, syrups and infusions, as well as some decorative objects.
