Gare de Sembadel

Station integrated into a railway junction, railway hub, the highest PLM junction station through which radiated the lines to Vichy or Le Puy-en-Velay or Bonson from 1901 to 1987.
The line from Bonson to Sembadel is a former non-electrified single track standard gauge French railway line in the Loire and Haute-Loire departments.
Since 2001, the section between Estivareilles and Sembadel has been bought by an intercommunal union, which after rehabilitating the track and the engineering structures, in 2006 entrusted its operation (only tourist to date), to the Chemin de Fer du Haut Forez association. At Sembadel station, the trains of this association meet those of AGRIVAP which operates the line from Saint-Germain-des-Fossés to Darsac between Courpière and Sembadel.
The Livradois-Forez Joint Railway Syndicate owns and manages nearly 150 km of railway, between the departments of Puy-de-Dôme, Haute-Loire and Loire. Freight trains travel the line daily and in season tourist trains run. All year round, work trains travel the track to maintain the network.
