65 km cycle circuit. Difficulty Level: Medium
This circuit on the borders of Velay and Forez will make you discover another aspect of the Loire river. From Aurec-sur-Loire, a town with two castles, you quickly leave Velay to enter Forez and reach Roziers-Côtes-d'Aurec. Of its former priory, this town has only preserved the beautiful Romanesque church whose tympanum represents the “Adoration of the Magi” of Spanish influence. Taking the "Balcony Route" you reach Valprivas with its medieval castle and its Renaissance courtyard. Admire the frescoes in the castle chapel. Begin the descent and it's Velay again. Beauzac, a small medieval town, is worth a detour for its church with a comb bell tower and its unique crypt in Velay. You find the Loire at Pont-de-Lignon.
