Located in Haute-Loire on the borders of the Plateau de la Chaise-Dieu and Le Velay, the Lac de Malaguet nature reserve protects one of the rare lake sites in Auvergne to be located in a crystalline mountain context.
With an area of 54,21 hectares, it is home to various waterside vegetation, in particular amphibious lawns of great originality, mown or grazed meadows, peaty environments and natural fir forests. Lake Malaguet is a favorite reservoir for salmonids: rainbow trout, brown trout, gold trout, fountain salmon. Very high standards are placed on the quality and density of the stocking. Numerous hatchings throughout the fishing season: chironomids, mayflies, terrestrial insects... Day passes, 1/2 day or annual subscription. Boats with electric motor. Mandatory reservation. Fishing guides, initiations. Fishing lodge and shop. Open from the end of March to the end of November from 8 a.m. to sunset.
