Located in Haute-Loire on the borders of the Plateau de la Chaise-Dieu and Le Velay, the Lac de Malaguet nature reserve protects one of the rare lake sites in Auvergne to be located in a crystalline mountain context.
With an area of ​​54,21 hectares, it is home to various waterside vegetation, in particular amphibious lawns of great originality, mown or grazed meadows, peaty environments and natural fir forests. Lake Malaguet is a favorite reservoir for salmonids: rainbow trout, brown trout, gold trout, fountain salmon. Very high standards are placed on the quality and density of the stocking. Numerous hatchings throughout the fishing season: chironomids, mayflies, terrestrial insects... Day passes, 1/2 day or annual subscription. Boats with electric motor. Mandatory reservation. Fishing guides, initiations. Fishing lodge and shop. Open from the end of March to the end of November from 8 a.m. to sunset.
