Located on a rocky peak at 979 m, the Chapel of Glavenas is a must-see site.
Overlooking the Swiss valley, the Chapel of Glavenas is the only surviving building of a fortified castle erected in the Middle Ages by the Lords of Glavenas. It then bears the name "Saint Théofrede". In 1490, the chapel became parochial and was dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption. It has a simple Latin cross plan covered with a magnificent slate roof. Next to the chapel, a beautiful orientation table in engraved volcanic stone offers a magnificent view of the Yssingelais, the Emblavez and the Devès mountains.
Michelle never tires of saying, "There's something going on here. We feel good up there! It is an ancient Celtic place of worship and we know that they settled where the waves of the earth were beneficial. Even today, you can see traces of this ancient place of worship”
