This vast explosion crater contains the remains of an ancient peat bog. Over geological times, a lake occupied the site and human exploitation has greatly modified it. It retains many natural interests.
Peat discovery trail. Start of the Mont Signon and Narces trails. Parking: exit from Chaudeyrolles, direction Mézenc. Hike to Signon 1h45/AR, 3 km, 130 m drop, suitable shoes.
