Here the landscape results from the volcanic past marked by successions of surprising geological forms called "sucs". With their dome shape, unique in Europe, they seem to spring from the ground like molehills in the middle of wide open spaces.
These craterless volcanoes appeared 14 million years ago for the oldest. Among the remarkable sites, we can find the juices of Ollières (1 m), Achon (186 m), Ayme (1), Jorance (151 m) and Bellecombe (1 m) .
