The very first pleasure chateau in the Loire proudly overlooks the river in Lavoûte-sur-Loire

Nestled in a raw and wild landscape, it was the stronghold of the Polignac family who reigned over the Velay for eight centuries. There, the castle dominates the river in a spectacular site that one can only take pleasure in visiting.

After crossing the Renaissance period garden, the visitor can discover an important collection of works of art, paintings and archives which testify to a history intimately linked to that of France. Or when the little story reveals the secrets of the great history of France!

Le Castle of Lavoute-Polignac is open for visits from April to November. Duration of the visit: approximately 45 minutes.
