Massif du Lizieux
The Lizieux massif is classified as Natura 2000 and “Volcanoes in freedom” areas. There are roe deer, wild boar, marten, ermine and more than 100 species of birds as well as rare species such as the European beaver and pearl mussels.
The peak of Lizieux:
Haut-Lignon has a crystalline surface covered on its western part by volcanic formations: the peak of Lizieux, 12,7 million years old.
Viscous lava flow and lava dome. It represents the exit point of a viscous lava which spread on both sides to give rise to the plateau located at its base.
From the summit surrounded by the scree of the last ice age, you will discover a superb 360° panorama over all the juices of Mézenc and Meygal.
