For more than 70 years, Oriol & Fontanel, a Santex group company, has been manufacturing ribbons, cords, pompoms, bows and other textile ornaments made in Haute-Loire... Made-to-measure accessories that have the power to enhance packaging. A unique know-how that opened the doors of luxury and its major brands to them.

Their clients are big names: L'Oreal, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Burbury, Lancôme, Guerlain, Dior, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy… It's dreamy isn't it? Oriol & Fontanel sublimates their perfume bottles, their cosmetics, their packaging or their boxes, with ever more delicate textile ornaments. A precious ribbon, as if to make the link between their perfume and the haute-couture collections that characterize them.

But if luxury occupies a large part of its production, the Montfaucon company also devotes itself to the packaging of other lesser-known brands, liquor also… as well as chocolatiers from here and elsewhere (Lindt, Weiss, Leonidas…) and other catering trades. Tailor-made creations that have won over more than 4000 customers. For more than 70 years, several tens of thousands of kilometers of ribbons have been flown around the world every day from the two workshops of Montfaucon-en-Velay and Andrezieux-Boutheon (Loire), distributing Altiligerian know-how across borders.

The marriage of tradition and modernity at the service of prestigious know-how

"We are weavers, we are dyers, but also printers", emphasizes Laurent Géry, the general manager. Of the ancestral know-how, to which one could also add the art of trimmings (cords and pompoms). So many professions that have been linked for centuries to history and Altiligerian heritage. The Haute-Loire is precisely one of the French cradles of lace and trimmings.

And one of the great assets of Oriol & Fontanel is marry tradition through the use of machinery and ancient crafts (some are up to 200 years old), with the technology of modern machinery (laser, digital and ultrasonic cutting and finishing). The result ? One-of-a-kind, rare, and therefore precious creations that justify their constant development in the luxury sector.

Ecological standards as a hobbyhorse

All while respecting ecological standards which today are more important than ever! Over the past 5 years, Oriol & Fontanel has distinguished itself as a leader in its field by offering eco-designed and environmentally friendly products. In addition to the use of recycled materials, the Altiligerian company also stands out through the Lyocell Tencel ®. A 100% ecological fiber from wood cellulose whose production uses 30 times less water than cotton and no pesticides.

Living Heritage Companies, a prestigious label that contributes to the attractiveness of the territory

Traditional techniques on one side, then perpetual research and innovations on the other. This is the brilliant paradox maintained by Oriol & Fontanel, but also by all the other labeled companies Living Heritage Companies (EPV). They are 13 in Haute Loire to reconcile innovation and tradition, know-how and creation, work and passion, or even heritage and future, all of this on a local or even international scale.
