It's brewing in Haute-Loire! It's the least we can say... Many breweries and micro-breweries have settled in the area in recent years. Craft breweries are springing up like mushrooms!

The Damsel in the Allagnon valley at Blesle, Pastoral at Les Estables, Saint Vidal in the village at the eponymous castle, The Vellavia in Saint-Germain-Laprade, The Virtuous in Yssingeaux, The Volcano in Cohade in Brivadois, The Gabale in Saugues in the middle of the Margeride, the Ouroboros in Freycenet-La-Tour, The Rhoner at Mazey-Saint-Voy, La Barbaroux in Chassagnes, The Strol in Monistrol-sur-Loire, La Beausigne in Saint-Just-Malmont… There is no shortage of choice in drinks. There are all colors and for all tastes!

La Vellavia beer

Vellavia is produced from barley miraculously saved by a few passionate farmers. On the heights of the volcanic plateaus, farmers cultivate “la Ponote”, an old variety of coarse grain barley rich in almonds. Its unroasted malt gives the Vellavia beer a beautiful golden color and a unique flavor. The farmers have “assembled” their brewery on the place of production.
