A moment out of time in an idyllic setting with, icing on the cake, a breathtaking view of the 3 sentinels of Puy-en-Velay: Our Lady of France, St. Michael's Rock and Cathedral. Here is my story of a magical experience - and for my part unprecedented - in the world of well-being.
When we walk through the door Mont Anis Spa, we go through a portal. That of calm and serenity. We change atmosphere, almost planet. Here, well-being is everywhere: in the jazzy music that contrasts with the roar of the engines on Boulevard Gambetta; in the refinement of the colors and the decoration of the historic building that houses it; in soft and warm materials such as wood, the charm of stone and the lightness of cotton curtains; in the traversing light that bathes the relaxation lounge and its splendid view of Le Puy-en-Velay in clarity; and finally in the reassuring smile of the 3 experts Margaux, Alexia and Oceane who want to be as benevolent as the environment around them.

We forget a little about our worries, the hectic pace of life, stress, fatigue and depression. We entrust our bodies to it, sometimes subjected to harsh tests. The Mont Anis spa wants to follow the needs and desires of each moment. It is, for example, the refreshing and well-deserved break for many walkers on the road of Saint-Jacques or the Stevenson. " The foot bath (iced or with Himalayan salt) which stimulate circulation and soothe sore muscles are particularly in high demand”, emphasizes the young manager, Margaux Clément, who has already seen a few pilgrims pass by.

So that everyone can find what they are looking for, the services are numerous: à la carte face and body treatments, scrubs, face diagnosis, foot baths, scalp, targeted or whole body massage, hammam and ice fountain in the private sensory space… For my part, this is a first, so I decided to keep it simple. The weekend was full of sporting performances, hard on the back and shoulders. So I opted for a targeted massage, conducive to muscle relaxation and recovery.
I'm not used to it, but the spa team is there, reassuring. It is Alexia who will take care of me. But before abandoning yourself to his expert hands, make way for a preliminary and systematic diagnosis: medical history, pain, specific problems, tensions, areas to avoid... The objective of this exchange? Identify the profile of the person, their expectations, their emotions and their desires.
A color, an emotion, a fragrance… serving a sensory universe that resembles us
Then, you have to listen to yourself and identify your emotions of the moment, to choose the massage and the fragrance that suits you: oxygen (emerald green, pine fragrances), Energy (red, woody cedar fragrances), purity (white, tea tree fragrances), serenity (turquoise, ylang ylang fragrances), creativity (orange, sweet orange fragrances)… After several hesitations, I let myself be carried away by the “serenity” and its scents of ylang ylang. A treatment that primarily targets the back, shoulders and trapezius muscles. Exactly what I needed! Let's go for 30 min of sweetness...
Between games of caresses and pressures, the moment is unique, particular, as if suspended… Unaccustomed to such an experience, it is difficult for me to let myself go completely, but impossible to deny the pleasure of the moment. The magic works, a massage never leaves you indifferent. It is a cascade of sensations where all the senses are awakened. We almost wish we could stop time. Of 30, 45, 60, 75 to 95 mins : a chance that it is possible to prolong the pleasure!
Gluttony to push the pleasure to its climax
And at Le Mont Anis spa, one surprise hides another! After the treatment, the awakening of the senses continues in the relaxation lounge, with panoramic view of the old town of Le Puy-en-Velay. This room is splendid... But in addition to the view offered by the gigantic bay windows, this time it is a question of taste and even of gluttony with drinks cool, hot and sweets. A refreshing peach-melon water and a vanilla macaron for me… Enough to prolong the pleasure a little with another form of sweetness. “Recently, we also offer brunch based on local products after any treatment", specifies Margaux Clément, for whom versatility is king.
I leave with my complete report and the advice of the two experts to continue to take care of myself after the spa. I will long remember that logout bubble on the Boulevard Gambetta. A first experience that in any case makes you want to be cocooned more often and a little longer... the time to let go and forget about work.
