Around Mont Mézenc

A person on top of a rock contemplating the forest and Mont Mézenc in Haute-Loire, Auvergne

This hike with grandiose and varied landscapes offers a loop around Mont Mézenc, the roof of the Haute-Loire. This summit is undoubtedly the one that offers one of the most beautiful viewpoints in France.
500 m separate the southern summit (1753 m) from the northern summit (1744 m) of Mont Mézenc. 500 m to go from the department of Ardèche to that of Haute-Loire. A 360° panorama, from which you can see, on a clear day, the chain of the Alps.
Between Velay and Vivarais, this Great Country Hike (GRP®) invites you to meet the Padgels, "people from above" in Occitan. We discover on these wild plateaus a volcanic region with steep reliefs, large farms at altitude and a gastronomy full of flavors with the Fin Gras du Mézenc.
A choice of 5-day loop starting from Freycenet-Latour via Borée in Ardèche or diagonally over 2 days starting from Fay-sur-Lignon.
